Friends,

I’m Mary Sawatzky. I am running to be your representative in district 17B because I want to put an end to the unforgiving and damaging partisanship we have seen over the past few years. It is something that has affected the entire political system and when I’m out visiting with members of our community I know that they deserve better and they want better from their elected officials. I am running for representative so that I can represent you, your families, and your ideas. I have been active in this community for over 27 years.  I have taught special education for our public school systems and have been involved in various community groups and have volunteered my time and energy to strengthen this community.  I appreciate and embrace our diversity and appreciate the way that we have developed into an agricultural and manufacturing center in rural Minnesota. Let’s look inward, embrace our values and bring the lessons of cooperation, adaptation, and hard work to the table.  Between the stark partisanship and increasingly influential special interests, we have experienced a lack of focus on economic issues and uncompromising positions that shut down our government and hurt the state of Minnesota. Join my campaign and let’s change the atmosphere in St. Paul.
